Drills and Skills
The Aaron Brooks Foundation has partnered with Drills and Skills to bring the Drills and Skills Concept into middle school and High school after-school programming. Drills and Skills is a comprehensive youth development strategy which seeks to address the needs of at-risk middle and high school aged youth. The program has served thousands of at-risk youth over the past 18 years.
The five main goals of Drills and Skills are:
- To assist youth in improving their academics.
- To improve the social skills of youth served.
- To provide a safe and interactive environment during after school hours.
- To develop strong leadership skills in the youth served.
- To provide positive mentorship to the youth served.
By leveraging the resources of schools, partnering with community-based organizations, community members, and families, Drills and Skills embraces the saying “It takes a village to raise a child”.
The Drills and Skills mission is to empower youth to become successful citizens by providing a safe nurturing environment where youth will develop their academic, social, and leadership skills.
Its Vision is that all youth served will become Self-Empowered, Self-Motivated and successful in life.
